The Home Depot // Built-In Pins

Pinterest is the platform where people go visualize their dream interior. But for millennial first-time homeowners, those perfectly styled, pin-worthy rooms often intimidate more than inspire.

As the leading retailer in home improvement, The Home Depot wanted to give people confidence to take their before’s and transform them into their very own pin-worthy afters. So, we created Built-in-Pins, the first-ever rooms built inside a Pinterest pin.

Every pin was it’s own microhub of content, connecting homeowners to an entire ecosystem of browsable, buyable content—including how-tos, DIY tips, and product pins. By hacking one-tap pins, we created the first-ever 360 degree shoppable experience in Pinterest, so people could shop the room the rooms from inside.

The campaign reached 3 out of 5 pinners interested in home improvement and drove over 350,000 visits to shop online.

The result: 36 million video views. 3.3 million earned impressions. And engagement rates 2x higher than previous benchmarks.
